Hi, we’re Heidi and Telly! Join our family on our adventures as we continue our DIY work on our dream home and still find time to travel the world….especially to anywhere Disney!
We live in the desert of Utah with our 4 fun teenagers and we all love our crazy family adventures, especially with all the teenage excitement that the kids bring along!! Telly is a high school math teacher and Heidi is a manager at a software company. When we’re not at work, we’re traveling or working on our home.
We bought a one acre lot in 2014 and we started drawing up the plans for our dream home. Eight months later we broke ground and we have been working on it ever since! We have taught our kids how to work hard, and though they don’t speak highly of it now, we keep reminding them that someday they will appreciate it! But really, we figure out ways to make it fun, we all learn new things, and we appreciate and love every square inch of our new space!! We are so excited to share our home with you and our many DIY adventures that we have had and that we continue to have as we keep working on our home!
When we’re not at work, or soccer and football practice and games, dance practices and competitions, piano lessons and recitals, plays, concerts, coaching, or getting in our workout, then we are usually traveling! We love road trips, camping, hiking, backpacking the back country, our week camping on the beach in Southern California every year, backpacking Europe, and most of all, we LOVE everything related to Disney! We have been on 2 Disney cruises (with another one on the books), we’ve been to Disneyland in Paris, Shanghai China, Disney World Florida, and have had annual passes to Disneyland California 4 different years, and we do consider ourselves to be Disney’s biggest fans!! We are hoping to make it to Disneyland in Tokyo and Hong Kong in the next few years! We may be a little obsessed, but over the years we have converted friends and family to our love of Disney as well! We’ve learned a lot traveling as a family of six and of course, sometimes getaways without the kids and we’re excited to share all of our favorite things about the places we have seen, the coolest things we learned, and share how we travel on a budget!!!
We started this blog because we have friends and family, and often times people we don’t know, asking us how we built something, what products we used on a certain project, where we stayed in Italy, how to plan a day in Disneyland, how to pack for a Disney cruise, and so much more, that this blog just made sense! If there is something that you want to know about that I’ve mentioned here that you don’t see in the blog, ask about it in the comments and we would love to share tips and tricks!!
